Luxmeter Energy consolidates internationalisation of their products

Luxmeter Energy is a company focused on innovation, which goal is to illuminate the whole salmon farming industry around the world.

Luxmeter Energy S.A. is a Chilean company founded in 2007, with offices in Puerto Montt and Quellon, and it is dedicated to manufacture technologies for aquaculture in the areas of photoperiod, illumination, cameras and submarine sensors.

The Chilean company Luxmeter Energy S.A. continues expanding its influence in the salmon farming industry worldwide, after it started providing photoperiod lamps with LED technology to Marine Harvest, one of the biggest fattening companies in the world located in Norway. Nowadays, Luxmeter also exports to Canada and Peru. In this respect, commercial manager Richard Cardenas confirms that: “Luxmeter has been working with the European market for three years. First as an independent company and later in partnership with Plany AS, thanks to a distribution agreement with them”, said the manager, pointing out that: “we have just finished installing our fifth system at a sea farm operating in Norway, with our IoT LED photoperiod lamps. This technology makes us unique, since it has a user interface with telemetry communication that allows us to change all the parameters remotely. For example, turning on or off the LED lamps, failure reports online and dimmer control, among other features. We are also introducing this technology to our national customers.”

But this is not all, because the company, based in Puerto Montt (Los Lagos Region) has extended its international offer to other products as well. “We are currently sending and exporting online environmental monitoring technology, including oxygen, temperature, salinity and turbidity sensors”, said Richard Cardenas, emphasizing their strong alliance to one of the biggest IoT and sensor companies in the world: Libelium. “This alliance allowed us to get into all the markets we operate in a solid manner. We are adding, as well, our new line of cameras for feeding control, full HD, which includes monitoring parameters such as depth and temperature in the same video signal.

New markets

Luxmeter Energy has overtaken the salmon farming industry in Europe, but that is not its only market. The company products are also operating in three Canadian fish farms, a process that will be strengthen once the products are fully certified according to the electrical regulations of said country. Peru has recently been added to the company’s customers list, which is “another market that it is being constantly supplied with shipments of LED photoperiod equipment for trout farming”, said Richard Cardenas, who assures a promising future, given that the company is focused on “increasing the sales strength on other lines of business, such as feeding control cameras and online environmental monitoring, for fattening stages and fish farming as well”, concludes the commercial manager on Luxmeter Energy, one of the most innovative companies in Chile that has set a goal to illuminate the salmon industry worldwide.

Innovation

In addition to the above, the company has been focused on incorporating advanced technology being that they will soon launch “an intelligent interface where photoperiod lamps will be controlled autonomously, meaning, they will take the existing variables in the environment, such as stock density, turbidity and transparency and will adapt to these factors, providing automatically more or less light depending on the conditions. This has led our company to be one of the most innovative in the field and we are sure that our customers will appreciate”, concludes Richard Cardenas.
