CONTRIBUTION OF PHOTOPERIOD SYSTEMS
Many studies demonstrate the positive effects using photoperiod systems with artificial light, especially in salmon. In fresh water, it helps to smoltification process, allowing to obtain smolt with better characteristics and consequently reducing the number of misfits. In the stage of fattening in seawater, it contributes to reducing maturity and accelerating growth.
All these effects contribute to the productive performance, to a better productive projection for the following year, to reduce costs, reproduction control, the harvest window and the quality of the final product.
